MAJOR winter storm wrap-up…another event looming?

Well, everyone, after over 30 hours of wintry weather, the skies have cleared! Boy oh boy were we hit hard! Many schools were closed for Tuesday and Wednesday, and now more are closing for Thursday! Thursday’s closings are due in part to power loss in some areas, as well as re-freezing of the melted snow/ice from earlier! Also, many areas have been impacted by fallen trees/branches, which has made travel less than ideal for many locations! I for one am very tired, after only getting a few hours of sleep over the past 40 or so hours of storm tracking! Just when I thought I could catch up on some sleep, another winter storm is showing up on the models! Unlike the last storm, this system looks to really get its act together over the Gulf of Mexico/Gulf Coast states before shooting up the East Coast, as opposed to sliding out of the Western US. Where it tracks will be KEY as that will determine how much wintry precip we receive! The models today have been downright amazing, showing another major thumping of snow (8″+)! Granted it is still several days away (Monday-Tuesday), the fact that the models are already beginning to trend towards another major Ohio Valley winter storm is something right there! While it is far too early to sound the horns just yet, keep the possibility of another major winter storm in the back of your minds over the next couple days, and please continue to check back here for my latest analysis!

Hopefully the storm next week will be a good encore act of the from this week.
Agreed! The models today are looking more impressive…
